Prepare the PDF
Start with a PDF that contains selectable text. Check that you can copy a paragraph in your PDF reader. A scanned page, a diagram with labels, or a two-column layout may not produce text in the intended reading order. If the extracted text is incomplete, use a clean text version instead of assuming the audio includes every page.
Turn a PDF section into audio
- Upload the PDF in the document audio tool above.
- Listen to the preview and follow the same passage in the original.
- Check names, numbers, headings and the transition between columns or pages.
- Continue in the app if you want to save the generated audio. App downloads require a paid plan.
For a research paper, start with the abstract or conclusion. For a manual, choose one procedure. Tables, citations and footnotes often need a spoken explanation that differs from their printed layout.
Does this read every page verbatim?
Do not assume it does. Document extraction can omit pages or reorder text, and long extracted text may be summarized. The preview uses one narrator. It is a way to listen to a short treatment of the material, not proof that a complete accessible edition has been produced.
What should I check before sharing?
Compare the output with the original, especially units, dates and exceptions. Keep the PDF available so listeners can inspect tables and references. If a faithful full reading is required, prepare and verify the text section by section before using a dedicated long-form narration workflow.
