What is Descript?
Descript is built for making and editing content such as podcasts, YouTube videos and clips. What is ScreenApp?
ScreenApp records screen, window, browser tab, microphone and camera, with system audio, from the web app, the Chrome extension that records tab, screen, mic and camera or the Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows apps. It has a meeting bot for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and the iOS and Android apps record audio. You can also upload files or import YouTube, Vimeo and direct media links.
After a recording you get a transcript with speaker identification, chapters with timestamps, action items with an owner and deadline, and decisions listed separately and AI chat with any recording. Editing is light: you can trim recordings, and the transcript supports transcript corrections, line removal and speaker reassignment saved to the recording.
