Fireflies vs ScreenApp
Consider Fireflies for meeting notes and a lower listed Pro price. Its free account accepted our uploaded meeting and returned a transcript, a native summary and answers to both custom prompts. Its paid plans also list integrations and team analysis features; we did not test those connections.
Consider ScreenApp for working with an uploaded recording alongside its transcript. We opened the recording and generated a summary and task response on Pro. Its answer to the task prompt searched multiple library recordings, which limits what this pilot can tell us about accuracy on the selected file.
Both completed the upload workflow. Neither has a verified speed or accuracy advantage from this test. Fireflies supports uploaded videos as well as meeting transcription.

What Changes With the Plan
Fireflies Free includes uploads and limited AI summaries, with 400 minutes of team storage. Pro adds video recording and downloads. Business adds conversation intelligence and team analytics; Enterprise lists SSO, SCIM and retention controls. These are published entitlements, not results of our account test.
ScreenApp Free lists 2 trial transcriptions and 3 trial uploads. Pro includes 50 transcriptions, 500 uploads and 50 AI chats monthly. Max lists unlimited transcriptions, uploads and AI chats, subject to its per-recording limits.

Upload Limits to Check
Fireflies documents video uploads up to 100 MB on Free and 2 GB on paid plans, with a maximum duration of 150 minutes. Audio files have separate size limits. Our small MP4 upload succeeded on Free; that does not imply unlimited imports. See the Fireflies upload requirements, checked 23 September 2026.
ScreenApp lists per-recording limits of 45 minutes on Free, 2 hours on Pro and 3 hours on Max. See ScreenApp recording allowances.
Test Results
Upload and Transcript
ScreenApp’s assisted upload completed. An earlier manual Fireflies attempt remained unconfirmed when its upload and meeting lists appeared empty; a later assisted upload completed and opened a transcript. We preserve that sequence rather than treating an empty list as proof that uploading is unsupported.
Both showed transcript text near the end of the clip. We saved the rendered transcript text, native summaries, matching-prompt answers and screenshots. Speaker labels were visible, but identities and transcription accuracy have not been checked against a human-reviewed reference.
Summaries
The same prompt requested Discussion, Agreed Decisions and Unresolved Proposals. Fireflies returned 168 words and ScreenApp returned 168, counting titles and headings by whitespace. Both followed the requested structure.
A material difference was how they framed monthly active users as a measurement approach. Fireflies put it under agreed decisions; ScreenApp described it as unresolved. Fireflies’ own transcript presents it as a possible metric needing benchmarks. That warrants audio review before calling either summary correct or counting an error. The response screenshots above let you inspect the difference.
Action Items
Fireflies reported no explicitly assigned action items and listed 5 proposed or unassigned tasks, with missing owners and deadlines marked “Not stated.” ScreenApp listed an assigned VS Code task, a Product Designer role and a supporting timestamp, with no deadline.
The answers are not a controlled single-file accuracy comparison. ScreenApp reported 13 library matches and cited multiple recordings. We could not establish that its answer used only the uploaded clip. Fireflies’ transcript also contains a speaker volunteering to add VS Code, so its “unassigned” classification needs audio review. Do not use these differences as a product score.

Privacy and Sharing
Fireflies initially showed “Teammates & Anyone with Link” for this recording. We changed this recording to “Only Owner” and confirmed the label in the interface. We did not test access from another account. This is an observation about our test recording, not a claim about every account’s default.
ScreenApp’s sharing and download controls were inspected, but recipient access and exported file contents were not verified. Public screenshots show cropped responses, excluding account details. The input meeting video is not republished. Neither product underwent a security or compliance audit in this comparison.
How We Tested
Test date: 23 September 2026. Input: the same approximately 8-minute trimmed Product Marketing Meeting MP4 in both tools. Its byte identity was recorded with a SHA-256 hash. ScreenApp had processed this file previously, so reuse and possible caching limit performance comparisons.
Environment: Chrome incognito on macOS, in Sri Lanka. Browser and OS versions are retained in the run record; connection speed was not measured. Accounts: Fireflies Free, English (Global), and ScreenApp Pro with its default transcription settings. We did not activate the Fireflies paid trial.
Method: assisted browser interaction for completed uploads, with the earlier manual Fireflies attempt recorded separately. We saved native outputs before asking the identical prompts below. Saved response text and reviewed screenshots support the observations; no continuous screen recording was captured.

Action items: List only explicitly assigned action items from this meeting. For each, give the task, owner, deadline including timezone if stated, and supporting timestamp. Write "Not stated" for missing details. Separately list proposed or unassigned work. Do not invent commitments.
Limitations: an exploratory pilot with different plans and settings, reused media, no controlled repetitions, no reliable comparative timing, no human audio-verified reference and no word error rate. ScreenApp’s action response was not isolated to one file. Live calls, integrations, exports and recipient access were not tested end to end.
Pricing and the linked feature sources were checked on 23 September 2026. The tables distinguish published features from observed behavior. ScreenApp publishes this comparison and has a commercial interest in the products being compared.

Yes. Our Free account accepted the MP4 and produced a transcript. Its upload guide lists supported formats and plan limits; a live meeting is not required for this workflow.

This pilot does not establish a winner. We need a human-verified transcript and controlled repeated tests. The action answers also used different retrieval scopes, despite identical prompts.
Did You Test Live Meeting Recording?
No. We tested an existing uploaded meeting file. The presence of live meeting controls or documented recording features is not evidence of a successfully captured call.
