How to Transcribe a Meeting
- Connect the bot, or your calendar: Add the meeting bot for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams to your call, or connect Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar so it joins every scheduled meeting on its own. It joins as a visible participant, the same way any other meeting bot does.

Yes. The bot only joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. For any other platform, use the Chrome extension that records tab, screen, mic and camera to record your own screen and tab audio, or upload a recording you made another way, and it transcribes the same way.
Can I watch the transcript appear while the meeting is happening?
There’s a beta live transcribe tool that shows a rough, running caption on your screen as you record on a Windows or Mac computer. The meeting bot itself produces the finished transcript a few minutes after the call ends, not a live view.
Can ChatGPT transcribe my meeting?
No. ChatGPT reads text and images, not live audio, and it can’t join a video call. Something has to record the call and convert the speech to text before a transcript exists for ChatGPT to work with.
Does it identify who is speaking?
Yes, speaker identification separates each participant automatically. You can rename a label afterward: click a speaker label to rename it, match it to a team member, or reassign a single segment.
What formats can I export the transcript to?

Is it legal to record and transcribe a meeting?
Rules on recording conversations vary by location and by whether everyone on the call needs to consent. Check the law that applies to you and your participants, and tell people on the call that it’s being recorded and transcribed.
Are my meeting recordings private?
Recordings are encrypted in transit and stored with AES-256, on SOC 2 Type 2 infrastructure, and are not used to train AI models. Security controls are published on the trust center.
