Convert a Slack Huddle or Voice Clip to Text
ScreenApp doesn’t have a bot that joins a Slack huddle. ScreenApp’s meeting bot for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and Slack isn’t one of them. How to Transcribe a Slack Huddle or Voice Clip
- Get the audio. Slack doesn’t record huddles on its own. Capture the huddle with ScreenApp’s Chrome extension that records tab, screen, mic and camera, which picks up tab audio and your microphone together, or record it with another screen recorder. For a voice clip, just download the file Slack already generated.
- Upload the file. Drag the saved audio or video into the transcription tool. It accepts common formats, including MP4, MP3, WAV, M4A, and WEBM.
- Get your transcript. The AI processes the recording, labels each speaker, and gives you an editable transcript you can export as PDF, DOCX, TXT, SRT and VTT.

- Slack’s own AI huddle notes: available on paid Slack subscriptions, generating a list of people in the huddle, topics discussed, action items and a transcript inside the huddle thread. It’s the simplest option if your team is already on a paid Slack plan and doesn’t need the file, other languages, or a transcript that lives outside Slack.
