Record a browser tab

Select a tab and its audio, record it and check the saved result.

  1. Open ScreenApp and start a recording.
  2. Choose screen or tab capture and select the microphone if you need narration.
  3. In the browser’s sharing chooser, select the tab you want to capture.
  4. Enable tab audio in the chooser if you need the tab’s sound, then confirm sharing.
  5. Check the recorder has started before beginning your presentation.
  6. Stop from the recorder controls. Wait for saving and upload to finish.

Open the result and check playback. See audio troubleshooting if the picture is present but sound is missing.

Browser and capture differences

Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge support browser recording. The choices in the sharing dialog depend on the browser and operating system. Select the actual tab, rather than a whole screen, if you want to keep other windows out of the recording.

For frequent capture, you can also use the Chrome extension.

Check your account’s recording limit before a long session. Saving the recording in your library is separate from downloading the media file, which needs a paid plan (see download access).
