ScreenApp and Slack: What Actually Works

There is no ScreenApp Slack integration

ScreenApp does not connect to Slack. There is nothing to install in Slack, nothing to connect under Settings, and ScreenApp does not post, sync or create anything in Slack on its own. Anything that ends up in Slack gets there because you put it there.

That is worth saying plainly, because the rest of this page is about the part that does work.

What you can actually do

  1. Record the meeting in ScreenApp, or upload a file you already have.
  2. Wait for the transcript and the AI summary.
  3. Copy the text, or export the transcript as PDF, DOCX, TXT, SRT and VTT.
  4. Paste it into the channel or thread. Slack renders Markdown headings and bullet lists, so an exported TXT summary keeps its structure.
  5. If people need to watch the recording, send them a share link. Share links are not password protected, so only send them to people who should see the recording.

Slack’s own AI notes

Slack takes notes on huddles by itself. AI huddle notes are on paid Slack subscriptions, and they give you a list of people in the huddle, topics discussed, action items and a transcript posted to a canvas in the huddle thread. Slack Pro is $7.25 per user per month billed annually. That covers huddles only, not a Zoom call, a screen recording or an uploaded file, which is what ScreenApp handles.

For developers

ScreenApp has API keys and a public API. You can generate an API key and pull a recording, its transcript and its summary, then write them into Slack with Slack’s own API. Use the API to retrieve recordings. ScreenApp does not offer webhooks, so your code or automation service checks the API for finished recordings and writes them to the destination; this is not a native integration.

Frequently asked questions

Can ScreenApp post to a channel automatically?

No. There is no ScreenApp Slack app and no auto-posting. You copy the summary or the share link into Slack yourself.

Is there a ScreenApp bot I can invite to a private channel?

No. No ScreenApp bot exists in Slack, so there is nothing to invite.

Can I automate it with Zapier?

There is no native ScreenApp app in Zapier. Custom automation can retrieve data through the API. Configure and verify that workflow yourself.
