What this is and is not
ScreenApp has a meeting bot for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. It joins the call as a participant and records it.
There is no ScreenApp app in the Zoom Marketplace, and ScreenApp does not pull your existing Zoom cloud recordings into your library. If you already have a Zoom cloud recording, you upload the file.
Option 1: send the meeting bot
The bot joins the call and records it, so you do not have to keep a tab open.
- Connect your calendar in ScreenApp. Both Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar are supported.
- Pick the Zoom meetings you want captured, or paste a meeting link directly.
- The bot joins and records. Everyone in the call sees it in the participant list, which is how it should be. Tell people they are being recorded.
- When the call ends, the recording lands in your library and goes through transcription and summarising.
The bot is open source and you can run your own copy. The code is at github.com/screenappai/meeting-bot.
Option 2: record the call yourself
No bot in the participant list, and it works for a call you joined from someone else’s invite.
- Install the Chrome extension or the desktop app. ScreenApp records screen, window, browser tab, microphone and camera, with system audio.
- Start recording the Zoom tab or window when the call starts.
- Stop when the call ends. Processing starts straight away.
Recording length is capped by plan: 45 minutes on Free, 2 hours on Pro, 3 hours on Max.
Option 3: upload a file you already have
Drag in an existing Zoom recording, or a batch of them. ScreenApp supports bulk upload of multiple files.
What you get back
The transcript comes with speaker identification and clicking a moment in the transcript jumps the player to that point in the recording. Run a template over it and you get meeting minutes or a follow-up email draft. The action items template gives you action items with an owner and deadline, and decisions listed separately. You can also AI chat with any recording and export the transcript as PDF, DOCX, TXT, SRT and VTT.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with Zoom webinars?
The bot needs a joinable link, and webinars often restrict that. Recording the tab yourself works either way.
Can I import my Zoom cloud recordings?
Not automatically. Download the file from Zoom and upload it.
Can I get the audio only?
Yes. Record audio only, or upload an audio file. The transcript is the same either way.
Does ScreenApp push the summary to Slack or a CRM?
No. Copy it across, or pull it with an API key and a script of your own.
