What the limits actually are
ScreenApp limits recordings, transcriptions and uploads by plan, not by gigabytes.
Free
Pro
- Recordings up to 2 hours per session
- 50 transcriptions a month
- 500 uploads a month
- 50 AI runs a month
Max
- Recordings up to 3 hours per session
- Unlimited AI runs
Each uploaded file can be up to 2 GB. YouTube link imports do not count against the upload limit, and recordings made inside ScreenApp do not count against the upload limit.
If you have hit a limit
- Check which limit it is. The message names it. Transcription and upload limits are separate from the recording limit.
- Delete recordings you no longer need. See deleting videos. This frees a slot on the Free plan.
- Wait for the reset. Monthly allowances on Pro and Max reset at the start of your billing cycle. The Free plan’s transcription and upload allowances are lifetime, not monthly, so they do not reset.
- Upgrade. See pricing and how to upgrade.
Keeping recordings tidy
- Trim before you upload. Cutting dead air off a long recording makes it faster to process. See how to use recording trim.
- Split long sessions. Anything over 3 hours needs to be split, see managing long transcriptions.
- Keep a copy. On a paid plan you can download the MP4 and archive it yourself.
If you cancel a paid plan, recordings are kept when a paid plan lapses; free-plan limits apply.
