Turn a Telegram Voice Message into a Transcript and Notes
Telegram voice messages live inside the chat as an OGG file, and ScreenApp has no bot that joins a Telegram chat to pull them out automatically. What it does is take the file once you have it: save or forward the voice message out of Telegram, upload it here, and get back a full transcript with AI notes, instead of relistening to find the one detail you needed.
Telegram itself can transcribe a voice message with a built-in transcribe button that free accounts can use a limited number of times per week, with no limit for Telegram Premium. This tool is for when you want more than the raw text: a searchable transcript, a summary, and AI notes you can ask questions against, kept with everything else you have already transcribed.
What you get:
- A full transcript, searchable, in 100+ languages
- AI notes: the key points, and anything that sounds like a task or a deadline
- speaker identification, useful when you forward several voice messages from a group chat into one file
- Export to PDF, Word, or plain text
- Free plan: 2 transcriptions of recordings up to 45 minutes each, with AI chat on it
How to Get a Telegram Voice Message Transcribed
- Save the voice message: In Telegram, tap the voice message and choose Save to Files, or forward it to your Saved Messages, so you have the OGG or MP3 file on your device.
- Upload it: Drop the file into the upload area above. Processing runs in the background.
- Read the transcript and notes: Come back a few minutes later to the transcript and the AI notes. Ask a question about the message and get an answer that points back to the moment in the audio.
Accuracy depends on the recording. A clear voice message sent from a quiet room transcribes well; one sent from a car, a street, or a crowded room will have gaps. See how we measure accuracy.

- vs Telegram’s built-in transcribe button: it turns a voice message into raw text in the chat, and Telegram Premium removes the weekly cap. It does not give you a summary, AI notes, or a place to search across every voice message you have ever saved. ScreenApp adds that layer once you upload the file.
- vs TAK! TEXT Bot: this bot works inside the chat with speaker separation and summaries, in 90+ languages, for 15 minutes a month (30 minutes in the first month) on the free plan before its €3.19 a month tier starts. ScreenApp has no in-chat bot; you upload the file instead, on a free plan that includes a full recording with AI chat.
- vs FixMeBot: FixMeBot’s other tools come with a free trial, but Voice-to-Text is excluded from the free trial, and the page does not publish a price for it. ScreenApp’s free plan covers a full voice message with the transcript and AI notes included.
Who Uses a Telegram Voice Notetaker
Remote teams get long voice-message updates from teammates and want the key points and any action items without replaying the whole thing.
Journalists and researchers receive voice-message interviews or tips over Telegram and need a searchable transcript to quote from accurately.
Students get voice notes from classmates or tutors with assignment details and want a text record they can search later.
People with hearing loss or in a loud environment cannot always listen to a voice message where they are and read the transcript instead.
Multilingual families and groups send voice messages in a mix of languages and want a transcript they can read or translate rather than replaying an unfamiliar accent several times.
