Accessing Videos from Another Computer

Your ScreenApp recordings are in your library, so you can open them from any computer by signing in. Here is how, and how to get a local video file in there.

If the video is already a ScreenApp recording

Recordings upload to your ScreenApp library while you record, so they are not tied to the computer you made them on.

  1. On the other computer, open a browser and sign in to ScreenApp.
  2. Open your library. Every recording on your account is there.
  3. Play, download, or share the recording from that computer.

There is nothing to install. Browser playback works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

If the video is a file sitting on one computer

Upload it rather than re-recording it. Re-recording loses quality.

  1. On the computer that has the file, sign in and click Upload in your library.
  2. Pick the file. Uploads are limited to 2 GB each. See supported file types for the accepted formats.
  3. Once it finishes processing, sign in on the other computer and open it from your library, or send a share link.

Sharing with someone who does not have an account

Use the Share button on the recording to generate a link. Anyone with the link can watch it in a browser without signing up. See how to share a video.

Tips

  • Internet connection: Playback streams from the cloud, so a slow connection means buffering.
  • Large files: A big upload takes a while. Leave the tab open until it reports as finished.
  • Privacy: Anyone with a share link can open the recording. Only send links to people who should see the contents.

If uploads or playback are failing, see solving upload problems.
