Reduce background noise in a recording
ScreenApp supports background noise reduction with light, medium or strong filtering, saved as a new file. Upload audio or video, then ask the app to reduce background noise. Compare the result with the original before using it.
Comparing by ear is harder than it sounds, because louder usually sounds better even when it is not. Running both files through the audio quality checker gives you the signal-to-noise figure for each, so you can see whether the cleanup actually helped or simply raised the floor along with the voice.
How it works
Choose light, medium or strong filtering. Stronger filtering can affect the voice as well as the unwanted noise. The processed recording is saved separately, so the original remains available.
Audio is saved as MP3. Supported video files retain their picture while the audio track is processed. The app checks whether the source container can be processed.
What are the limits?
This processes an existing recording. It is not live microphone noise cancellation, dedicated echo removal or a way to restore clipped speech. Background music and speech can overlap; filtering may not separate them cleanly.
Plans and privacy
See current plans for processing allowances. ScreenApp does not sell customer data or use customer content to train AI models. Vetted subprocessors process data as required to provide the service.
