How to Download Video, Audio and Text from a Recording

Choose a media download, an audio output or a transcript export without confusing the different file types.

Choose the output you need

A recording, its transcript and a generated document are separate outputs. Downloading a PDF transcript produces text from the recording; it does not turn the moving picture into a PDF video.

Use the converter to start with a file or supported link. After processing, open the recording and choose the output that matches your next task.

Download the recording

Use the recording download action in the library or player menu. Check the output actually returned by the app. The accepted upload extensions are not a promise that the app can export every one of those formats.

For a WebM recording that needs MP4, follow WebM to MP4 help. Do not rename the file extension and assume it has been converted.

Get an audio output

Attach the video in Ask AI and request: “Extract the audio from this video as a new MP3 file.” Wait for the returned audio file to finish processing. Play the downloaded audio to confirm it contains the expected track and full duration.

For audio cleanup, ask: “Remove background noise from this recording and create a cleaned copy.” That is a separate processing task; compare the result with the source. See noise cleanup.

Export text or slides

Transcript exports support TXT, DOCX, PDF, VTT and SRT. Generated document exports support Markdown, TXT, PDF, DOCX and PPTX. Choose transcript export when you need the spoken words, or create a document when you need edited notes or a report.

To make slides, follow create and export a PowerPoint. Review the presentation rather than expecting it to preserve every frame of the video.

Check the result

Open the file in the software your recipient uses. Check playback, sound and duration for media; check text, timing and layout for documents or subtitles. If an output is unavailable, read the app’s message instead of repeatedly uploading the same source.
