Import a file from a link

Import accessible media without confusing public links with private or protected content.

  1. Copy the original content URL.
  2. Open ScreenApp’s link-import input.
  3. Paste the URL and submit it.
  4. Wait for import and processing, then open the result.

Common sources include YouTube, Vimeo and direct media links. Support depends on the particular URL and whether the source makes the content available to the importer.

A page can play in your signed-in browser while remaining inaccessible to ScreenApp. Private pages, expired file links, login requirements, region restrictions and protected media can prevent import. A supported site name is not a promise that every URL on that site works.

For a file you are allowed to download, upload the local file if link import fails. Do not try to bypass access controls.
