Delete a recording

Check ownership, derived content and shared links before removing a file.

Before deleting

Save any content you need and check whether the recording belongs to your personal space or a team. You need the relevant permission to delete it. Do not assume a deleted recording can be restored from a trash folder.

Delete the file

  1. Open the recording or its library menu.
  2. Choose the delete action.
  3. Read the confirmation and check the selected file before confirming.
  4. Check that the recording is no longer available.

Deleting a recording breaks links to that recording. It can also affect its transcript and associated content.

Generated documents and other artifacts

The current app has a purge artifacts with file preference in Account settings. Check it before deletion. Derived documents can otherwise remain separate from the recording; review any document shares independently.

Deleting files can free cloud storage. It does not automatically reverse AI usage or reset lifetime allowances. See usage and limits.
