Install the ScreenApp Chrome extension

Install the extension, grant capture permissions and save a test recording.

Install

  1. Open the ScreenApp extension page and follow its Chrome Web Store link.
  2. Check the listing is ScreenApp, then use the store’s installation control.
  3. Open the browser’s extensions menu and pin ScreenApp if you want it on the toolbar.
  4. Open the extension and sign in when prompted.

Managed browsers can restrict extension installation. Contact your organisation’s administrator if installation is blocked.

Make a test recording

Choose a capture mode in the extension, select the source and grant the permissions requested. If you need tab sound, enable audio sharing in the browser chooser. Check microphone input separately.

Stop using the recording controls, wait for saving to finish and open the result to verify playback.

Troubleshooting

  • If the extension is missing, check whether it is installed and enabled in your browser’s extensions manager.
  • If sound is missing, see audio troubleshooting.
  • If a recording is pending, keep the original browser profile and follow recovery guidance.

Do not uninstall the extension or clear its data while recovering an unfinished recording.
