Connect Google Calendar for meeting recording

Connect a calendar, configure the meeting bot and test a Google Meet call.

Connect the calendar

  1. Open Settings > Calendar.
  2. Choose the Google connection and sign in to the intended Google account.
  3. Review the consent screen before connecting.
  4. Open Settings > Meeting Bot and review the bot’s settings.

The current Google calendar connection requests calendar read access and account profile/email information. It does not request Google Drive access as part of this connection.

Test a meeting

Create a calendar event with a joinable Google Meet link. Check the bot’s eligibility and scheduling settings in the app. Start the meeting and admit the bot if it waits for permission.

Tell participants the meeting is being recorded. After the meeting, check the resulting recording and transcript in ScreenApp. Processing time depends on the meeting and service state.

The bot does not join

Check that the calendar is connected, the event has a valid meeting link, the account has access to the bot, and the host allows the participant to join. A connected calendar does not guarantee every meeting will be recorded.

For manual recording without a bot, use browser tab recording.
