Andre Dean Smith

Andre co-founded ScreenApp and runs it as CEO. The part that shapes everything is what is not behind it: no venture round. He and his co-founder bootstrapped the product past $2M in annual recurring revenue, with two founders and no outside funding. When you grow a company that way, features have to earn their place and content has to bring people who stay.

He got here after B2B SaaS roles at Prezi and Infogram, and built his first venture through the Antler program. ScreenApp came out of that founder track, and it is now listed among the startups on the UNSW Founders page. He studied commerce at UNSW.

These days he runs ScreenApp's SEO and content operation himself. That is unusual for a CEO, and it is deliberate: he wants the people writing about the product to actually use it. He keeps one rule he will not bend, which is that he tests a tool on a real recording before anything goes out about it. On this site he is the product reviewer, the person who checks that claims about speed, pricing, and accuracy match what the product does.

His writing leans on real numbers rather than guesses, the kind that come from ScreenApp's own usage data and hands-on testing. The accuracy page and the pricing page are the clearest examples of the work he stands behind.
