Locking in Canva refers to the ability to prevent accidental changes to an element's position, size, or other properties. When you lock an element, it becomes uneditable until you unlock it. This feature is particularly useful when you want to preserve the layout of your design or prevent others from making unwanted changes. Locking can be applied to any element in Canva, including text, images, shapes, and backgrounds.
To lock an element in Canva, select it and click on the "Lock" icon in the toolbar. You can also right-click on the element and choose "Lock" from the context menu. Once an element is locked, you will see a padlock icon next to it. To unlock an element, simply click on the padlock icon or right-click on the element and choose "Unlock". You can also unlock all locked elements in your design by clicking on the "Unlock All" button in the toolbar.
Canva offers several advanced locking options that allow you to control the behavior of locked elements in more detail. For example, you can choose to lock an element's position but allow it to be resized, or lock an element's size but allow it to be moved. You can also choose to lock an element's properties for all pages in your design or only for a specific page. To access these options, select an element and click on the "Advanced" tab in the toolbar. From there, you can customize the locking settings to suit your needs.
