How to Transcribe Video with Text in ScreenApp

In this support article, we will guide you through the process of transcribing video files in ScreenApp. This powerful feature utilizes the latest GPT technology, allowing you to review, summarize, and ask questions about your transcript. But first, let's go through how to login or signup to your ScreenApp account.

Logging Into ScreenApp

Before you can transcribe a video, you'll need to have a ScreenApp account. Follow these steps to log in:

  1. Navigate to the ScreenApp website on your preferred web browser.
  2. Click on the 'Login' button if you already have an account, or click on 'Sign Up' to create a new one.
  3. If you're creating a new account, enter your details as prompted and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Once you've logged in or created your account, you should be ready to start transcribing.

Importing and Uploading Your Video

To begin the transcription process, you'll first need to import and upload your video:

  1. Click on 'Import Video'.
  2. Here you have two options - either click 'Browse' to find your local video file, or simply drag a video file into the platform.
  3. Select the video you want to transcribe (in our example, we chose an mp4 file but you can also choose an webm or MKV file).
  4. Click on 'Open'.
  5. Click on 'Import' to upload your video.
  6. Wait for the video to upload.

Transcribing Your Video

After your video is uploaded, it will automatically be transcribed:

  1. Once the upload is complete, the video will automatically be transcribed and any speakers ixdentified.
  2. Click on the video inside the library to view the transcription.
  3. On the right-hand side of the interface, you will see the transcript of your video.

Interacting with the Transcript

ScreenApp provides several options to interact with your transcript:

  1. Click on the speaker to identify different speakers in the video.
  2. Click on the timestamp to go directly to that part of the video.
  3. Copy the entire transcript if you want to use it elsewhere.
  4. Use the 'Ask AI' functionality to translate, summarize, or ask questions about the transcript.
  5. Extract any action items identified by the AI.
  6. Make the transcript shorter by summarizing the main points.

With these features, ScreenApp gives you the power to get the most out of your video transcripts, whether for summarizing content, translating languages, identifying action items, or asking questions.
